Today The Lancelet published an article on a 52 year old woman who is paralyzed from the neck downwards. American scientists were able to develop a prosthetic hand which she can control by two networks of microelectrodes implanted in her motor cortex, regions of the brain that involve planning, control, and execution of voluntary movements

10th November 2012: TEDx UHasselt

Yesterday I got an email informing me that I am one of the 500 lucky people that will be attending TEDx UHasselt on November 10th in my old university. It will be interesting to travel back in time and sit once again in the aula's where I have spent many hours a decade ago.

I am especially looking forward to the talks of Juergen Schmidhuber (Artificial Intelligence), Marc Buelens & Nele Snoeck (Organisational Behaviour) and Anders Sandberg (Ethics on "human enhancement").
