Today was the March for the Future at Genk, the unions and social organisations answered in big numbers and gathered in a long line of thousands of people heading for the old mine site where twenty-five years ago a similar social drama took place. It was heartwarming to see such a big expression of solidarity. But this is just the start. Yes, we have now marched and shown our empathy to the workers and our demand of the politicians to act,  but the struggle is still on: we need to constantly remind the policymakers that we will not accept this, we have to keep the story in the media and keep the public opinion sharp.

To all who where there: thank you, it was a pleasure marching with you, but the struggle has just started.

Triggerfinger: I follow rivers

Visiting Suikerrock last Thursday, I just had to see Triggerfinger. Their life performance is seriously thrilling and I have been whistling the tune of their cover of Lykke Li's"I follow rivers" for the past week.

Getting the chords was fairly easy, although I play it a full tune higher than the original video.

Hier soir j'entrais dans notre cuisine et j'entendais que Sh, la cheffe, utilise son GSM pour jouer de la musique. La chose que me surprenait était qu'elle écoutait à (et même chantant à haute voix) Chiquitita de ABBA. Ca m'a surpris car le groupe de pop suédois n'est pas connu ici et en plus: Sh n'a que 23 ans.
Ah bon? ABBA.

Quand je l'expliquais que la musique a déjà plus que trente ans et que mes parents dansaient à cette chanson, c'était incroyable pour elle. Sh me disait qu'elle l'avait téléchargé d'Internet sur son mobile et qu'elle l'aime beaucoup parce que c'est tellement joliment chanté. Alors ses compliments à la blonde Agneta.

Lost Love(s)

Sometimes you just loose track of an old pastime, maybe you just forgot about it, or you were too busy with other things, ... But when you rediscover it, it brings you so much joy that it feels like being reunited with a long lost love.

Latest project: Johnny Cash

The original "Hurt" is by Nine Inch Nails, but Johnny Cash just gave it that extra touch. The guitar part of this song is fairly easy:
