Because your wife uses the car too



It must have been around 2002 or something, quite some time ago. Everywhere in Belgium you saw the above publicity for the insurance company Mercator. A lady who tries to drill a hole in the wall (to hang up a picture), but she makes a complete mess out of it.
The television spot was as follows (only the caption has been changed to English to make it more international):

The moral is that you, as the man, better take a good car insurance because your wife can be clumsy behind the wheel too.

I thought this kind of sexist publicity was only possible in the sixties, but still: it made me laugh.
