Ghana ski centre?

Kwame Nkrumah-Acheampong, an Olympic skier from Ghana has launched a bid to build a ski slope in the tropical West African country. [source: BBC]

Ok, it is good to do sports: it is healthy for your body, it gives you something useful to do with spare time and can be a good social event. But looking for sponsorship to put up a ski centre in a West-African country sounds a bit crazy to me.

I respect people that start ambitious projects and "thinking-out-of-the-box", I have to admit that this takes a lot of guts. But although Ghana is a perfect example of a good progressing and democratic West-African country, if people would like to investigate in a better future for (the youth of) this country, there are much better options. If any government would invest in this, it would raise serious questions for me.
